Vincent Van Gogh

Vincent Willem van Gogh (1853 – 1890 ) was a Dutch Post-Impressionist artist. His paintings and drawings include some of the world's best known, most popular and most expensive pieces. He spent his early life working for a firm of art dealers and after a brief spell as a teacher, became a missionary worker in a very poor mining region. He did not embark upon a career as an artist until 1880. Initially he only worked with somber colors, until an encounter in Paris with Impressionism and Neo-Impressionism, whose brighter colours and style of painting he developed into a uniquely recognizable style, which was fully developed during time spent at Arles.

Mille Fleurs Staff - I just received my second order from your fine establishment. It arrived in one week from Europe to Minnesota. After I ordered a tapestry last month, I desired another tapestry - this time the Melchior tapestry - which I have had my eye on for some time. It arrived yesterday and it is truly beautiful. The detail in the scene and the variety of bright colors makes this truly a stunning tapestry I will enjoy for a very long time. I also ordered two pillow covers which are also of a very nice quality and attratrive. I'm proud to have your fine tapestries in my home - thanks!
