William Turner was an English Romantic landscape painter, watercolourist and printmaker. Turner was considered a controversial figure in his day, but is now regarded as the artist who elevated landscape painting to an eminence rivalling history painting. In 2005, Turner's The Fighting Temeraire Tugged To Her Last Berth To Be Broken Up, painted in 1839, was voted Britain's "greatest painting" in a public poll organised by the BBC.

The tapestry is fully lined with a strong cotton fabric. There is a rod pocket provided on the top.
