The Love of the Gods
From a set of nine mythological tapestries, designed by François Boucher and woven at the Manufacture Royale de Beauvais in the mid XVIIIth century. The arms at the top are king Louis the XVth's, who commissioned the set. The relative freedom of the century appears through the nudity of the figures. This particular tapestry shows Apollo and Clytie, the nymph daughter of Oceanus.
The tapestry is fully lined with a strong cotton fabric. There is a rod pocket provided on the top.
